According to sources for the Wall Street Journal, U.S. authorities have detained a Russian oil tanker that was headed to the port of New Orleans in Louisiana. The American newspaper reported that the tanker, named "Daytona," is owned by the Greek shipowner TMS Tankers Ltd and was chartered by Vitol, a commodity trading company based in Switzerland. Data showed that the ship sailed from the Taman Peninsula in Russia's Black Sea in early June and was loaded with fuel and gas, scheduled to dock in New Orleans on Sunday.
