Bride Withdraws from Wedding Ceremony Over Multiplication Table

In a strange incident, a girl in Uttar Pradesh, India, refused to marry her groom on the wedding day after he failed a math test she conducted, prompting her to leave the wedding hall. According to "newsweek," during the celebration on Wednesday, May 5, the bride decided to give her future husband a small test. She chose to inquire about the two times multiplication table; however, he failed the test, leading her to reject the marriage and leave the ceremony. The bride stated that she could not marry someone who did not know the basics of mathematics. The bride's cousin expressed her astonishment upon learning that the groom was uneducated. She said, “The groom's family hid his education from us; he might not have even gone to school. The groom's family deceived us. But the brave bride withdrew without fear of societal taboos.” Friends and family were unable to convince the bride to change her mind.
