On Sunday, cars lined up in long queues in Colombo to get fuel. Anyone wandering around the city on Sunday would see lines of tuk-tuks (local three-wheeled taxis) and regular cars in various parts, waiting for the chance to refuel. Some drivers confirm that the lengths of some queues extend 1-2 kilometers. It is noted that Sri Lanka is experiencing its worst economic crisis since gaining independence in 1948. Thousands of protesters previously took to the streets of Colombo demanding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, during which they stormed the President's house and then the Prime Minister’s house, forcing the president to flee the country and subsequently officially resign.
