Long queues have returned to Syrian fuel stations, amid a renewed crisis in securing petroleum products, especially diesel and gasoline.
The Syrian Ministry of Oil stated in a statement that it has reduced the quantities of gasoline distributed to the provinces by 17%, and diesel quantities by 24%. The ministry indicated that the reduction is temporary, until the new contracted supplies arrive, which have been delayed due to sanctions and the American blockade. It is expected that "they will arrive soon, allowing for a complete resolution of this issue."
Syria has been experiencing a severe crisis in securing petroleum products for several months, and many families have not received the designated quantities of diesel, which are set at 200 liters in two installments.
