Teen Confesses to Killing Father in Baghdad: Here's Why

The Ministry of Interior's Police Department announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of a "juvenile" who killed his father in the capital, Baghdad. The agency stated in a release that "following a murder incident within the jurisdiction of the Al-Tahdhib police station under the Baghdad Police Command, the Baghdad Police Commander, Major General Majid Faleh Nima, directed the formation of a specialized team led by the Director of the Al-Sadr Police Department to investigate the incident and apprehend the suspect."

It added that "after two hours of search and investigation, suspicions arose regarding his 14-year-old son, and upon reviewing the evidence and confronting him with it, he confessed to committing the crime and killing his father due to the father's mistreatment of him."

The agency noted that "necessary legal procedures were taken against him in accordance with the law."
