Pope Calls for Cessation of "Massacre" in Ukraine

Pope Francis called on Sunday for an end to the "massacre" and "unacceptable armed assault" in Ukraine, which has been invaded by Russian forces since February 24. The Pope condemned the "brutality" represented by the killing of children and civilians, adding in his remarks after Sunday prayers, "Stop this massacre."
