The Saudi national team has won the title of champion of the eighth edition of the Arab Youth Cup for players under 20 years old, defeating their Egyptian counterpart after winning in a penalty shootout in the final held on Sunday evening. The original time of the match ended in a positive draw (1-1), with the Saudi team taking the lead through a goal from their player Abdulaziz Saud Alaliwah in the last minute of the first half. Egyptian player Salah El-Din Basha equalized in the 49th minute with a shot from inside the penalty area.
Luck smiled upon the Saudi "Green" team in the penalty shootout, resulting in a score of (5-3), which the teams resorted to after extra time also ended in a draw, but with no goals. This victory marks the Saudi national team’s second consecutive win of the Arab Youth Cup for under 20 years old and the third in its history, which is a record.
