Kuwaiti artist Shimaa Suleiman shocked her fans by announcing her decision to retire from acting definitively, stating that she will no longer be present in this field and will only continue to sing and perform in theater.
In a video on "Snapchat," Suleiman said: "I have my reasons honestly; on the contrary, it was a lovely experience in acting, and I really enjoyed it. You will see me in my last work during the upcoming Ramadan, and it truly deserves to be the conclusion." She continued, saying: "I will remain Shimaa, who sings and loves music. This year you will see me in Ramadan, and I am proud to have worked on this significant and impressive project. The series 'Sama Aliyah,' and I hope that the time I entered this field, at least, I left a light mark."
Regarding her reason for retiring, Shimaa said: "I made the decision out of conviction; many things made me think about this issue, situations, and experiences I went through made me feel like I was in a place that doesn't suit me. The actor needs a personality that is willing to change their character, make concessions, and start anew to be able to continue in this field."
She concluded by saying: "I am afraid of taking a step that might ruin everything I built. I am happy with the acting experience in general; I tried it, and it was a beautiful experience. Many thanks to Professor Mohammed Duhah, who encouraged me to enter this field and take this step. I enjoyed it and gained a lot of experience."
