The municipality of Akkar al-Ateqa announced in a statement the arrest of a gang involved in stealing electrical wires in the town. "A group of young men from Al-Marahat - Akkar al-Ateqa successfully caught the gang in the act while they were at the cemetery of Al-Marahat at two in the morning today." It noted that "immediately coordination was made with the Information Branch and the Beino police station, and the eight arrested individuals, who are from the Dinniyeh and Akkar regions, were handed over to the Information Branch along with the seized items to the security forces."
