Two women in Egypt's Minya Governorate lured a 4-year-old child and killed him by poisoning juice they gave him, due to disputes with his mother. Egyptian security authorities revealed the circumstances surrounding a report received by the Maghagha Police Station in Minya regarding the discovery of a plastic bag on the edge of a waterway, containing the body of a 4-year-old boy from the Smaalout area, who had been missing since August 25, fully clothed, with a piece of cloth wrapped around his neck and a bruise on his forehead.
Investigations indicated that two women, residing in the area, had disputes with the child's mother. They lured the child to their home, gave him a juice box containing a toxic substance, assaulted him with a metal object (a measuring cup) to his head, and strangled him with a piece of cloth until he died. They then placed the body in a plastic bag and discarded it in the waterway, where it was later found.
Security forces were able to arrest both women, and upon confrontation, they confessed to committing the act as described, and indicated the tools used. Legal proceedings have been initiated.
