Regarding the bank strike, economic specialist in dollarized countries, Layal Mansour, indicated that "the strike is an inappropriate action. These banks prevent depositors from withdrawing what remains of their rights, and they act selectively with them, not adhering to decisions they disagree with." In a conversation with "Al-Anbaa" electronic news, Mansour pointed out that "the sector's move towards an open-ended strike is possible, but then trust in the banks would be completely shattered, salaries for public and private sector employees would cease, commercial transactions—especially with abroad—would be disrupted, and imports would come to a halt."
