Turkey's automotive sector recorded record figures in its exports, surpassing $25 billion in 2020, reaching 118 countries, making it the top export sector in the country.
Passenger car exports accounted for 37% of total exports, with a value of $9 billion, 533 million, and 689 thousand. Most of these were exported to France, with a value exceeding $1 billion, 641 million. Italy followed in second place with a value of $877 million, 798 thousand, followed by Germany at $852 million, 949 thousand. The European market maintained its position as the most important importer, accounting for 75.4% of total Turkish automotive exports.
