French President Emmanuel Macron and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune signed a joint declaration on Saturday for a "renewed partnership" 60 years after the end of the war and Algeria's independence. Tebboune stated during a press conference following the signing of the declaration in the VIP hall at Houari Boumediene Airport that the "successful" visit of his French counterpart, which began on Thursday and ends on Saturday, "allowed for a closeness that would not have been possible without President Macron's character."
