Italy Crowned European Champions for the Second Time in History

The Italian national team has won the UEFA European Championship title, defeating their English counterparts via a penalty shootout (3-2) in the final match held on Sunday in London. English defender Luke Shaw (26 years old), from Manchester United, stunned the "Azzurri" by scoring a quick goal just two minutes after the kickoff, finding the net against Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus equalized in the 67th minute by pouncing on a loose ball in the penalty area following a corner kick, at Wembley Stadium in London.

Italy's "Azzurri" secured the title of European champions for the first time in 53 years, last winning in "Euro 1968." This victory marks their fourth appearance in a European Championship final and their tenth in major tournaments (European Championship and World Cup). Germany holds the record for the most finals reached in both tournaments, with 14.

Meanwhile, England reached the UEFA European Championship final for the first time and this is their second appearance in a major tournament final (European Championship and World Cup) since the 1966 World Cup final, which they won, marking their only major title to date.
