A 20-year-old woman, who was pushing her baby stroller on a street in New York City, was shot in the head and killed. The New York Police Department stated that the woman was transported to Metropolitan Medical Center where she died from her injuries, adding that her child was unharmed.
In a press conference near the scene in Manhattan, New York Mayor Eric Adams appealed for "help to apprehend the shooter." He stated, "We will find the person responsible for this horrific crime. We will find him and bring him to justice."
The New York Police Department requested on Twitter that residents stay away from the area for investigative purposes, according to Reuters. It is noted that the woman was shot once after a gunman approached her from behind, wearing black clothing.
