Music has benefits for both the mind and body. German music psychologist Karl Hormann explained that listening to music, singing, or playing a musical instrument helps to relieve psychological stress, anxiety, and depression, and enhances feelings of mental comfort and inner peace.
He added that listening to music is particularly stimulating during exercise and aids in improving performance levels.
Additionally, German musicologist Markus Henrik noted that singing in a choir has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system and helps stabilize heart rhythms, according to findings from a Swedish study conducted a few years ago.
On the other hand, German ear, nose, and throat doctor Bernhard Junge-Holzinger warned against consistently using earbuds while sleeping, as this can lead to earwax being pushed deep into the auditory canal, resulting in infections and functional disorders.
