Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, at the beginning of his tour in Africa, which is his first since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine on February 24 of this year. Lavrov is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, followed by talks with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, culminating in a joint press conference. He will also meet with the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, where he will deliver a speech at a meeting of the League's Council at the ambassadorial level. The tour, set to take place from July 24 to 28, will also include visits to Ethiopia, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as announced by the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
