The "Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos" hosted the match between Almería and their guest Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.
Almería was eliminated from the Copa del Rey at the quarter-final stage after losing to Sevilla with a score of 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by Lucas Ocampos in the 67th minute. Sevilla advanced to the semi-finals after overcoming Almería in the current round.
Sevilla reached the quarter-finals by defeating Valencia in the Round of 16 with a score of three goals to none. Sevilla has been performing strongly this season, currently sitting in fourth place in the La Liga standings with 39 points, having won 12 matches, drawn 3, and lost 5. They achieved victory in their last league match against Eibar with a score of 2-0.
It is worth mentioning that Almería eliminated Osasuna in the Round of 16 last week and also succeeded in knocking out Deportivo Alavés in the Round of 32 with a convincing five-nil win.
