The Jordanian official news agency reported today, Saturday, that a responsible official from the Ministry of Interior announced the temporary closure of the Jaber border crossing with Syria for goods and passenger traffic "due to developments in the security situation on the Syrian side." The official stated that the crossing would be reopened "once suitable conditions are available." The Daraa province in southern Syria, adjacent to the Jordanian border, has been experiencing conflict since early Thursday morning, starting from the eastern countryside of the province, moving through the city, and reaching the western countryside, between government forces and their security apparatus on one side and local armed groups on the other, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
