China intends to purchase the majority of the world's food reserves by stockpiling large quantities of wheat, rice, and corn in its warehouses. According to the "Mikay Asia" website, the U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed that Chinese food stocks are experiencing growth in 2022, adding that Beijing may buy half of the global food reserves by storing 69% of the total corn supply, 60% of the rice, and 51% of the wheat. Experts believe that China has increased its reserves by 20% over the past ten years, emphasizing that these figures are so high that there is concern about a rise in food prices. The Russian newspaper "Izvestia" reported experts saying that "China's enormous appetite for grain is leading to further declines in global supplies and creating conditions for prolonged increases in food prices."
