Berri: "If Something Amazing Happens, a Government Will Be Formed"

Berri:

Speaker Nabih Berri confirmed that he will not call for a session to elect a President of the Republic until the necessary reform laws from the International Monetary Fund are completed, during a conversation with journalists in Ain al-Tineh. Regarding whether a government will be formed, Berri said, "If something amazing happens, a government will be formed." He also contacted Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati, asking him to hold a session between the three presidents or between him and President Michel Aoun on Monday during the Army Day celebrations.

On the topic of maritime border demarcation, Berri emphasized that "Lebanon wants the entire Qana field... either all of it or none." Regarding the return of mediator Amos Hochstein, he stated, "Tomorrow you will receive a clear answer, and hopefully going to Naqoura is better than going elsewhere." Berri concluded his comments on the presidential election by stating that "the President of the Republic should have a Christian flavor and an Islamic flavor, but the most important thing is that he should have a national flavor."
