Good News for Kidney Dialysis Patients

Dr. Joseph Halou, the Director of Medical Care at the Ministry of Public Health, assured in an interview with "Radio Lebanon" that he "signed this morning and received goods and dialysis supplies from two companies." He emphasized, "We will not abandon dialysis patients; the supplies are available and subsidized, and the guarantor entities are committed to the directives of the Ministry of Health. However, there are some financial issues, particularly regarding the funds for supplying companies, and the ball is in the court of the Central Bank of Lebanon."

Halou added, "Regarding tests, I met with doctors, associations, and the hospital syndicate. We cannot conduct all the tests; rather, the doctor must assess what is the essential and necessary test." He warned the Lebanese that "COVID-19 is not over, and the numbers are increasing," urging them "not to remove masks and to return to preventive measures, while the vast majority of hospitals in Lebanon have closed their COVID-19 departments."
