In conjunction with the spread of the novel coronavirus and the rising rate of infections across Lebanon, caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab warned today, Monday, about the dangers of not implementing a complete lockdown.
Diab stated, "Either we address the state of the coronavirus in the country with a complete and strict lockdown, or we will face a Lebanese model worse than the Italian one." The country is recording unprecedented numbers of infections amidst growing fears of a complete collapse of the health and medical sector.
Earlier, the committee monitoring coronavirus measures recommended a full lockdown for the country for one week, including Beirut's international airport, due to the outbreak of the virus.
