United States Urges India to Reconsider Wheat Export Ban

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield expressed hope that India will reverse its decision to ban wheat exports, just ahead of ministerial meetings set to take place at the international organization's headquarters in New York to discuss food security. During a virtual press conference, Thomas-Greenfield stated, "We encourage countries not to impose export restrictions because we believe that any restrictions on exports will exacerbate food shortages."
