Barcelona Signs Manchester City Striker

Barcelona has reached an agreement to sign Manchester City striker, Spanish international Ferran Torres, during the winter transfer window that opens next month. Renowned Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, an expert in football transfers, stated that Barcelona is currently preparing the paperwork and contracts to announce the signing of Ferran Torres, indicating that the Catalan team will issue a statement regarding this deal soon.

Romano revealed that the deal will cost Barcelona around 55 million euros plus an additional 10 million in variables, and Torres will sign a contract that will see him represent "Barça" for the next five years. Romano confirmed that Barcelona's coach, Xavi Hernandez, was behind the Catalan club's insistence on signing Torres.

The 22-year-old Spanish international had joined Manchester City from Valencia for 22 million euros in August 2020. Torres scored 16 goals in 43 matches for the Premier League champions and won the Premier League title and the League Cup with them, as well as reaching the UEFA Champions League final earlier this year in his only full season at Manchester.

However, Torres faced a setback in his second season with "City," suffering a foot fracture that has kept him sidelined since October.
