Volkswagen's Profits Drop by 50%

Volkswagen's profits in 2020 decreased by approximately 50%, despite a significant recovery in vehicle shipments in the fourth quarter, which boosted its shares.

The company announced that its operating profits for the entire year, excluding costs related to the diesel emissions scandal, totaled $12.2 billion, compared to about $23 billion in 2019. The company stated in a press release that the net cash flow in the automotive division reached around $7.30 billion, and vehicle shipments increased at the end of the year.
