China and Hong Kong defied the trend among major exporting countries, with exports growing by 3.7% and 2.6% respectively during the last year, which witnessed the outbreak of the coronavirus. Meanwhile, France experienced the most significant decline in exports among the top ten countries. The United States ranked second in terms of the largest decline in exports last year. The U.S. faced a widening trade deficit during the current year, reaching a historical high of $74 billion in March 2021. However, France topped the list of the ten major countries with a significant export decline of 14.5% in 2020.
