UN: Two Peacekeeping Soldiers Killed in Mali

The United Nations peacekeeping mission announced that "two of its personnel were killed and five were seriously injured in an explosion of an improvised explosive device in northern Mali, which is experiencing violence perpetrated by extremist groups." The UN stated in a statement: "This morning, a mine exploded near an armored vehicle belonging to a logistic convoy of the peacekeeping forces on the Tissalit-Gao route." A mission official, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed to AFP that the two soldiers who were killed were Egyptians.
