Saudi fans woke up on Wednesday to the news of the death of Salah Al-Muwallad, the former star of Al-Ittihad Club, after a long battle with illness. Salah Al-Muwallad suffered a sudden health crisis and fell into a complete coma a week ago, before being transferred to the hospital, where his death was announced today.
Al-Muwallad had previously stated that he constantly suffers from heart issues due to a hole in his heart, which increases fluid in his body, causing it to accumulate in his abdomen, resulting in swelling and health crises.
Former Al-Ittihad star, Mohammed Suwaid, revealed that Salah Al-Muwallad had suffered from loneliness over the past years due to the death of his only son, Bandar, in a car accident.
Al-Muwallad is considered one of the most prominent players in the history of Al-Ittihad Club, leading the team's attack from 1984 to 1991, a period regarded as golden under President Abdul Fattah Nazer.
