U.S. President Joe Biden personally drove an electric vehicle and cruised around the White House lawn to promote the policy of adopting electric cars. Biden, 78, approached the all-terrain vehicle, removed the seatbelt he had placed in the back seat of the "Wrangler Rubicon" model, and drove it alone in the presidential grounds.
Biden posted a short video documenting his drive in the vehicle on Twitter, writing: "Not a bad day at work." This action coincided with his signing of an executive order stating that around 40-50 percent of the cars sold in America should be electric or hybrid by 2030. The signing ceremony, held in the South Lawn of the White House, included officials, lawmakers, and representatives from automotive companies.
The electric "Wrangler Rubicon" has become one of the best-selling hybrid vehicles in the United States, despite only being on the market for three months, according to a statement from a company official reported by Fox News. The price of this vehicle is approximately $52,000.
