The Widow of the Suspended Pilot's Statement After Mohamed Ramadan's Fine of 6 Million EGP

In her first comment, Ghada Al-Mostakawi, the widow of pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yassar, stated that she is currently in contact with her lawyer to execute the Court of Cassation's ruling regarding the fine imposed on artist Mohamed Ramadan of 6 million EGP. The Court of Cassation, presided over by Judge Omar Shouda, upheld the ruling from the Economic Court to fine Mohamed Ramadan 6 million EGP in favor of the family of the late pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yassar over the "cockpit crisis" case.

The pilot's widow told Masrawy, "We will not reconcile or enter into any negotiations with Mohamed Ramadan; nothing new has emerged until now, but the lawyers are considering how to implement the ruling."

The Economic Court in Cairo had ruled that pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yassar was entitled to compensation of 6 million EGP from Mohamed Ramadan for the damages he incurred due to a photo Ramadan published on board a plane piloted by Captain Abu Al-Yassar, rejecting the counterclaim.

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yassar passed away after being placed in intensive care in a hospital due to the deterioration of his health. He was the one involved in the crisis with artist Mohamed Ramadan, which led to his suspension. Abu Al-Yassar had suffered from a health crisis that accounted for his last days in the hospital.

A dispute arose between Ramadan and Abu Al-Yassar when the Ministry of Aviation revoked the pilot's license for life after allowing the artist to enter the cockpit and take photos, which Ramadan later published on his accounts.

Abu Al-Yassar and Ramadan engaged in a lengthy legal battle, and recently, the Economic Court ruled that Ramadan must pay 6 million EGP in compensation to pilot Abu Al-Yassar for the damages he incurred due to the cockpit photo incident.

The Economic Court in Egypt had issued its ruling in the case brought by pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yassar, in which he demanded 25 million EGP in compensation from artist Mohamed Ramadan for causing his job termination. The court ordered Mohamed Ramadan to pay a compensation amounting to 6 million EGP to pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yassar.

The lawsuit stated that artist Mohamed Ramadan exploited the pilot's photo to promote himself by releasing a music video for his new song titled "You Don’t Search at the Airport," using Abu Al-Yassar’s image in a promotional scene while piloting the plane, which resulted in significant financial and moral damage to the pilot.
