General Road Conditions

With the arrival of storm JOYCE in Lebanon, heavy rains, thunderstorms, and snow have covered the peaks.

In this regard, the Traffic Control Room reported that: the main road from Jezzine to Kfarhoune is passable for four-wheel-drive vehicles or those equipped with chains; the Kfardebian road is passable for four-wheel-drive vehicles or those equipped with chains; the Dhahr al-Bidar road is only passable for four-wheel-drive vehicles; and the Marj al-Zahr road in Beqaa is currently passable for four-wheel-drive vehicles only.

The Traffic Control Room requested that, due to the weather conditions and wind speed, citizens should not park their vehicles near trees and billboards for public safety.

The Meteorological Department in the Civil Aviation Authority predicted that today's weather will be generally cloudy with a significant decrease in temperatures, especially in mountainous and inland areas, along with strong winds reaching up to 85 km/h which will cause elevated sea waves. Rainfall will intensify at times, accompanied by thunderstorms, with hail and snow falling at elevations of 1000 meters and lower in northern and inland areas down to 700 meters.

The Traffic Control Room reported that there were 18 accidents investigated in the past 24 hours, resulting in 1 fatality and 30 injuries.
