US President Joe Biden said on Monday during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi that cooperation with Baghdad in the field of counter-terrorism will continue as the United States concludes its combat missions in Iraq. Biden stated during the discussions with Al-Kadhimi in the Oval Office that the US role in Iraq will shift to providing advice and training. He also mentioned that the United States will soon send doses of coronavirus vaccines to Iraq.
