Joint Statement Confirms Commitment to the European Super League

Real Madrid and Barcelona from Spain, along with Italy's Juventus, have announced their commitment to establishing the European Super League, a football project that represents a breakaway from the UEFA (European Football Association). The clubs still involved in the project criticized the "unbearable" pressures exerted by UEFA to abandon the proposal.

In a joint statement, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus stated, "The founding clubs of the project have suffered and continue to suffer from unbearable pressure, threats, and violations from a third party to abandon the project." The statement added, "This is intolerable under the rule of law, and the judiciary has already ruled in favor of the Super League proposal, thereby mandating both FIFA and UEFA, either directly or through their affiliated bodies, not to take any action that could obstruct the initiative in any way until legal proceedings are completed."

Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus intend to "persist in seeking suitable solutions, despite the unacceptable pressures and threats from UEFA," according to the statement.

The nine other clubs that announced their withdrawal from the Super League agreed to "take all possible steps" to end their involvement in the proposed competition. UEFA stated that these three clubs would face penalties and that disciplinary proceedings had already begun against them for taking this step.
