Soldier Receives Treatment in France and Army Chief Welcomes Him at the Airport

Army Commander General Joseph Aoun welcomed Corporal Hussein Shaib at Rafik Hariri International Airport, in the presence of French Military Attaché Colonel Gregory Medina, representing French Ambassador Mrs. Anne Grillo, along with several members of Corporal Shaib's family. He arrived from Paris aboard a specially equipped medical evacuation flight after receiving treatment for 6 months and 10 days at the PERCY military hospital, specialized in severe military injuries, following a serious injury sustained during a security mission in the Bekaa region on July 31, 2021. The French Ministry of Armed Forces covered the costs of Corporal Shaib's treatment and transport. The Army Commander thanked the French authorities for their support of the military on various fronts, especially in treating critical medical cases. In conclusion, General Aoun awarded Corporal Shaib an exceptional promotion, presented him with the Wounded Soldier Medal, and a certificate of commendation.
