The goals for Palmeiras were scored by Rafael Vega and Eduardo Pereira Rodrigues in the 39th and 49th minutes, respectively. Al Ahly played with ten men from the 81st minute after Ayman Ashraf was sent off for a rough tackle on Brazilian Rony. Palmeiras will compete for the championship trophy against the winner of the second semifinal, which will feature Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, champions of the AFC Champions League, facing English club Chelsea, champions of the UEFA Champions League, tomorrow, Wednesday.
