An Indian military source stated that the Chinese army is reinforcing its military positions in the Ladakh border region, despite ongoing de-escalation negotiations. This action does not align with the de-escalation and reduction of tensions expressed during the negotiations between Beijing and New Delhi.
So far, China and India have engaged in 9 rounds of difficult negotiations to overcome the tensions arising from military clashes along the shared border in the mountainous region of Ladakh, which erupted last May and resulted in dozens of casualties on both sides.
In this context, an Indian media source reported that Chinese military battalion positions have been strengthened with new fortifications, missiles, and launchers, along with a redeployment of military units and their vehicles near the Indian border. Local experts explained that this military development at the border with India is merely a response to a recent call by Chinese President Xi Jinping to his army during his inspection of an air defense unit in Guizhou in southwest China, to be "ready for battle."
