Mohamed Salah Nominated for Best Sports Personality Impacting Britain

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool player, has been nominated for the Best Sports Personality Influencing British Society for 2022, presented by the British Ethnicity Awards organization. The organization announced the shortlist for the award on Tuesday, which includes Mohamed Salah, alongside Arsenal player Bukayo Saka, Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin, British runners Mo Farah and Alex Yee, British runner Dina Asher-Smith, South African cyclist Nicholas Dlamini, British athlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, weightlifter Karandjit Kaur, and British boxer Natasha Jonas. The award is determined by public voting, and the ceremony will take place on October 27. The organization praised Mohamed Salah on its website, recognizing him as one of the most distinguished forwards in the world. Salah recently signed a long-term contract with the Reds, deciding to remain with the team he joined in 2017.

Throughout 2022, Salah received several individual awards, including: Best Player in England from the Professional Footballers' Association, Best Player in the Premier League from the Football Writers' Association, and Player of the Year at Liverpool FC. Salah also won the Golden Boot with 23 goals and the Playmaker of the Season award for assisting 13 goals in the previous Premier League season, and he won the FA Cup and the EFL Cup with Liverpool.
