Bono Named Best African Player in La Liga

Moroccan international Yassine Bono, goalkeeper for Sevilla FC and guardian of the "Atlas Lions," was awarded the title of Best African Player in the first half of the Spanish La Liga season. Bono received this accolade after garnering the highest number of votes from fans who participated in the poll, surpassing Nigerian Samuel Chukwueze of Villarreal FC.

In a statement following his victory, Bono expressed his gratitude: "I would like to thank you for this award; it is a great honor to represent African football in La Liga."

Another Moroccan international, Youssef En-Nesyri, who plays as a forward for Sevilla, finished in third place, despite a lackluster performance in the recent Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon.

Bono has played 20 matches with Sevilla this season, conceding only 13 goals, and is considered one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga recently, as well as one of the prominent names globally in his position. He participated with the Moroccan national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, where the "Atlas Lions" were eliminated by Egypt in the quarter-finals, delivering solid performances throughout the tournament.
