Bassem Taless, President of the unions and syndicates of the public transport sector in Lebanon, announced that the public transport sector will be included in the first phase of the lockdown easing.
The National News Agency reported that Taless clarified in a statement, based on his communication with the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Dr. Michel Najjar, who informed him that vehicles from the public transport sector will be part of the first phase of lifting the lockdown. Taless, on behalf of the minister and the unions and syndicates of the public transport sector in Lebanon, urged drivers to adhere to the conditions that protect everyone, which will be issued by the relevant authorities.
Moreover, the Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Mohamed Fahmy, announced after a meeting of the ministerial committee for coronavirus at the Grand Serail that all sectors will reopen gradually over four phases, starting from the 8th of this month, with each phase lasting two weeks. The Minister of Interior explained that during the first phase, exiting will only be allowed after obtaining a permission request through the platform.
