American actor Joe Lara, known for his portrayal of Tarzan, died on Saturday in a plane crash in Tennessee. The 58-year-old star was one of seven individuals who lost their lives when a small aircraft crashed into a lake near the town of Smyrna, Tennessee. His wife, Gwen Shamblin Lara, and five others were among the deceased, with the Associated Press reporting that authorities at the scene indicated there were no survivors from the incident. Captain Joshua Sanders, a rescue official in Rutherford County, stated during a press conference: "Our efforts have shifted from rescue to recovery; we are no longer... looking for living victims at this stage."
