Ukrainian officials announced that Russian forces blew up a bridge linking the Ukrainian city of Sievierodonetsk, currently experiencing street warfare, to another city across the river, cutting off a potential evacuation route for civilians. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the situation in Sievierodonetsk as serious. Meanwhile, Moscow confirmed that it had "destroyed a large warehouse" in western Ukraine for weapons sent from Western countries, as fierce battles rage in Sievierodonetsk in the east of the country, where Ukrainian forces seem to be struggling to fend off the Russians. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that "Kalibr missiles launched from the sea destroyed near Chortkiv a large warehouse for anti-tank missile systems and portable air defense systems supplied by the United States and European countries to the Kyiv regime." The Russian military did not specify when this strike took place, but Ukrainian authorities in this small town in the west reported that it resulted in at least 22 injuries, including civilians, and caused damage to a military site. In response, President Zelensky, in his evening video message, stated that "there was no tactical or strategic objective for this strike, as is the case with the vast majority of other Russian strikes," describing it as "just terrorism."
