Absence of Mahrez in Matches Against Uganda and Tanzania Announced by Algerian Football Federation

The Algerian Football Federation has announced the absence of Riyad Mahrez from the Algerian national team's camp in June, which will include matches against Uganda and Tanzania in the first two rounds of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Algerian federation stated in a release: "The captain of the national team, Riyad Mahrez, will miss the upcoming camp and will not participate in the matches against Uganda and Tanzania in the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations, Côte d'Ivoire 2023." The federation confirmed that it received a medical report from English club Manchester City, where Mahrez plays, indicating that he would not be able to participate in the upcoming matches. The Algerian team will face Uganda in its first match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on the fourth of next month at the "5 July" stadium, before moving to Dar es Salaam to face Tanzania on the eighth of the same month. The Algerian team is placed in Group 6 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, alongside Uganda, Niger, and Tanzania.
