Burhan Appoints 5 Generals as Ambassadors in Neighboring Countries

Sudanese media reported today, Monday, that the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Burhan, has appointed five generals from the police, army, and security forces as ambassadors in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in preparation for their assignment to neighboring countries. According to the Sudan Tribune website, Burhan appointed Lieutenant General Fath al-Rahman Mohi al-Din Saleh Muhammad as an ambassador in the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The list also includes Lieutenant General Jamal Abdel Majid, the former director of the General Intelligence Service, who is likely to take up duties at the Sudanese embassy in Juba, the capital of South Sudan. Additionally, Ali Osman Muhammad Younis was appointed as an ambassador, with his expected destination being Chad. The decision also named Ibrahim Muhammad Ahmed Ibrahim as an ambassador at the Ministry, and Brigadier Bashir Ahmed Idris, a former police officer, who is anticipated to serve as an ambassador in the Central African Republic.
