The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi has unveiled the program for New Year's Eve celebrations, which includes a busy and diverse schedule of concerts featuring a lineup of prominent Arab and international stars, promotional displays, fireworks, and entertainment, musical, and cultural activities. These events provide the local community and visitors an exceptional opportunity to celebrate with family and friends in a lively and joyful atmosphere.
Saadiyat Island, the integrated destination for business and modern living in Abu Dhabi, will host a live concert on New Year's Eve (December 31) featuring renowned Arab singers Hussein Al Jasmi, Elissa, and Balqees in the southern plaza of the island, while Bollywood star Atif Aslam will perform his greatest hits at Etihad Arena on Yas Island. The audience will also enjoy a virtual performance by world-renowned DJ David Guetta, broadcast live from the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Seven spectacular fireworks displays will light up the skies of the emirate at midnight on New Year's Eve, taking place over the Abu Dhabi Corniche, Mamsha Al Maryah, Saadiyat Beach Club on Saadiyat Island, Yas Bay Waterfront on Yas Island, Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, and Al Ain and Dhafra regions.
The emirate will also see more than 40 celebratory and musical events, with exclusive offers available across hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers. The New Year celebrations coincide with the winter campaign for the Abu Dhabi Shopping Season, which provides a variety of experiences and fantastic deals at over 3,500 participating stores.
The public is required to adhere to the safety protocols in place, including social distancing, wearing masks, and continuous sanitization, to ensure everyone's health and safety. Upon entering concert venues, attendees must present a green pass on the Al Hosn app and a negative PCR test result received within 48 hours, along with a temperature check.
