Egyptian actress Lablaba responded to the criticisms she faced for attending the wedding of businessman Ali Al-Jamil's son just hours after being present at the funeral of the late actor Samir Ghanem. Lablaba stated that she was in El Gouna before hearing the news of Samir Ghanem's death and that she returned to Cairo specifically for the funeral, and then returned to El Gouna to attend the wedding and fulfill her social obligation.
Regarding the video circulating on social media that shows her smiling and appearing happy during Amr Diab's performance at the wedding, Lablaba said, "It didn't happen; I was greeting the groom’s parents while they were on stage, but I didn't dance or move from my spot. I left the wedding and returned to my accommodation, and at that time, I received a call from the production team of the 'Al-Hikaya' program hosted by Amr Adib to discuss Samir Ghanem, and there was no music or signs of celebration during the call."
It is worth noting that actress Elham Shahin previously confirmed that she did not attend any weddings in El Gouna or Cairo, clarifying that the circulated photo of her was taken in El Gouna just one day before Samir Ghanem's death. Lablaba confirmed that Elham Shahin was present there with a group of Syrian friends, and as soon as she learned about Samir Ghanem's death the following day, she, along with Laila Elwi and Hala Sedki, returned to participate in the funeral, especially since Samir Ghanem was a dear friend and held a special place in their hearts.
A significant uproar occurred on social media in Egypt due to several actresses attending a wedding in El Gouna on Friday night and dancing, after they appeared in black at Samir Ghanem's funeral that same morning, showing signs of sadness for him.
