The First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, has tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing "mild symptoms," the White House announced, noting that her husband, Joe Biden, tested negative.
Elizabeth Alexander, the Director of Communications for the First Lady, stated, "The President's wife began showing symptoms similar to a cold on Monday evening, so she underwent a PCR test, which came back positive." She added that Jill Biden (71 years old) will receive Paxlovid treatment and will isolate for at least five days in South Carolina, where she was on vacation with Joe Biden. The President has tested negative for COVID-19 and will, as planned, return to Washington today, according to a White House spokesperson.
