Jordanian Meetings for the Minister of Interior: Security Files on the Table

The Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, held a meeting in Jordan with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Kreishan, who emphasized his ministry's commitment to cooperating with the Lebanese Ministry of Interior and Municipalities in the area of local administration. For his part, Mawlawi expressed his welcome for expanding cooperation and benefiting from experiences and practices that enable municipalities to contribute to local development.

Additionally, Minister Mawlawi met with his Jordanian counterpart, Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya. The meeting included discussions on the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and opportunities to enhance them, particularly in the areas of exchanging security expertise and benefiting from Jordan's experience in combating drug smuggling operations and sharing technical knowledge in this regard.

During the meeting, Al-Faraya presented the Jordanian experience concerning the logistical preparations and advanced equipment used by Jordan in areas that witness daily attempts at drug smuggling.

Minister Mawlawi confirmed the stability of security conditions in Lebanon, noting that the government is implementing a plan to revitalize all sectors to help overcome the economic problems currently faced by Lebanon. He considered that this plan can only be achieved through cooperation and support from brotherly Arab countries, including Jordan. He stressed the importance of continuing measures to prevent the export of prohibited substances to Arab countries and working to restore trust between Lebanon and the Gulf Arab states, which would help in re-exporting Lebanese agricultural products.

Mawlawi began his official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with a meeting with Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh yesterday in his office at the Prime Ministry. Al-Khasawneh pointed out that his government, under the direct guidance of King Abdullah II, is working to provide support and assistance to Lebanon. For his part, Mawlawi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts made by Jordan to support Lebanon on all levels.
