The office of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that Johnson, along with the leaders of the United States, France, and Germany, emphasized on Sunday during a phone call the importance of ensuring the safety of nuclear sites in Ukraine. A spokesperson at the British government's office in Downing Street stated, "In a joint phone call, the Prime Minister, President (Joe) Biden, President (Emmanuel) Macron, and Chancellor (Olaf) Scholz reaffirmed their strong commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of Russia's invasion." The spokesperson added that they "stressed the importance of ensuring the safety and security of Ukrainian nuclear facilities and welcomed the recent discussions on enabling a mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to access the Zaporizhzhia nuclear facility."
