Kamaz Master Team Dominates Dakar Rally 2022 for Trucks in Saudi Arabia

The Russian team "Kamaz Master" monopolized the podium in the 2022 Dakar Desert Rally for the truck category, which was hosted in Saudi Arabia for the third consecutive time from January 1 to 14. Russian driver Dmitry Sotnikov, driving a Kamaz-Master truck, secured first place in the overall ranking by completing the rally distance in a time of 41 hours, 37 minutes, and 34 seconds, ahead of his compatriots Eduard Nikolaev (by 9 minutes and 58 seconds) and Anton Shibalov (by 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 11 seconds). This is the second time Sotnikov has won first place in the prestigious Dakar Rally, having achieved his first victory in last year's edition. The "Kamaz Master" team also secured fourth place through Andrey Karginov. This victory marks the 19th win for the "Kamaz Master" team in the Dakar Rally and the 18th in the last 21 years.
